May 15-May 19th

I hope all the Moms enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day! A reminder that Friday, May 19th  is a PD day for students, and there is no school on Monday, May 22nd because of the long weekend. I have been reminding students to check my Blog on a regular basis. My Blog is updated weekly, and I tweet out what we are doing in class and interesting educational information.

Math - Students completed a short Probability Quiz on Friday. We will be continuing with our Geometry unit this week, looking at transformational geometry and coordinate grids. This will be fun and interactive for students. Students have also been working on a math playground using 3D nets. This is a great opportunity for students to collaborate with each other and share ideas and designs.

Language - Book Clubs are finished. There will be a culminating activity to complete the unit. Students are working on completing their last Genius Hour projects. They will then present to the class. We are almost finished our read aloud called "Defiance." Students are enjoying this book and we have had lots of great conversations during the reading.
