April 3rd - April 7th

Thank you for your support during Spirit Week. Students had lots of fun, and we raised money for Guatemala!

Math - We will be looking at fractions and decimals this week before we have a math test. Students will be comparing decimal numbers to hundredths and looking at proper and improper fractions, and mixed numbers. We have finished double digit multiplication and long and short division. I encourage students to continue to practice their division and multiplication at home.

Language - We finished our read aloud "Hiding Edith." We will be doing some work this week in connection to the read aloud before we move into our Book Clubs. Doodle 4 Google Canada is a national contest for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. They are asking students to imagine what the next 150 years will look like. The winning doodle will be featured on the Google homepage for 24 hours. The winning student will also receive a $10,000 university scholarship, a Google Chromebook, and a $10,000 technology award for their current school and a trip to the final event on June 13, 2017. I will be introducing this to students. If your child is interested, I will print off the entry form. The form needs a parent or guardian's signature to participate. Please have a look at the link below.
