April 24th - April 28th

Spring is finally here and it is hard to believe we are almost at the end of April. Earth Day Celebrations will continue on Monday with the promise of beautiful weather!

Math - We will be finishing up our unit on fractions and decimals. Students will be participating in another STEM challenge on Friday that will involve estimation, fractions, percents and probability. Students were highly engaged in our last STEM challenge, and I am hoping this will be just as engaging and somewhat challenging. I will be speaking to students about the STEM challenge on Monday.  Our next unit of math will be a short unit on Probability.

full of rolling dice, flipping coins and spinning spinners!

Language - We have started a new read aloud in class. It is a wonderful story about a young boy going through cancer and what he goes through physically and emotionally. We have also started our Guided Reading Book Clubs. This allows me to observe students as they read from texts at their instructional reading levels in small groups. Please continue to have your child read for at least 15 minutes every night. Raz Kids is an excellent resource for your child to be using.
