Welcome back from a short but busy week! It is hard to believe we are already into the month of February!!
Math - Students are continuing to work on their Tiny House Project. We hope to have our tiny houses finished up this week. I am amazed and pleased at the creativity and detail with which most students put into their tiny house models! I will post some pictures on Twitter of their finished products. We will be spending a couple of more weeks on our Measurement unit. Coming up, students will be spending time exploring mass, capacity, and volume. I will let students know when we will have a Measurement quiz. Before that, we will be doing a short review using PearDeck. PearDeck is a way of transforming Google Slides into an interactive presentation and gains student engagement immediately. I can see which students are stuck, who's ready for more, and what's confusing them.
Language - Students just completed a CASI reading test. I am planning to go over the answers to the comprehension questions that students completed for me in their Google Drive. We will look at what makes an answer to a question a level 1, 2, 3, or 4. Most students have completed their "How to be a ..." pamphlet. We will present our pamphlets to the class. February is Black History Month. I have assigned a few important articles, or books to their student account in Raz-Kids. They will read the passages and complete the test questions that go along with this. We will then discuss the stories together as a group.
Please continue to check my Blog. I update on a weekly basis and take pictures to post on Twitter almost daily. I have also updated our Classroom Calendar. February is a busy month!!
