In math, we are continuing our unit on patterning. We have been working on patterns, pattern rules, and T-charts. By the end of the unit, students should be able to identify relationships between growing and shrinking patterns using a table of values. We will cover Algebra later on in the year. I encourage continued practice of multiplication tables on a nightly basis. This will help later on with division.
In language, we are almost finished our read aloud. Students have almost completed their partner biographies and will be ready to present soon. Information about this and the rubric will be posted on my blog. We have been talking about what a Fractured Fairy Tale looks like. The next writing focus will have students writing their own Fractured Fairy Tale. I encourage 30 minutes of reading on a nightly basis, especially on nights where there is little homework.
Monday, November 7th, my Grade 5 group will be taking part in our second Faith Assembly. We will be presenting the virtue of Peace. We will be practicing this week! Students will be singing and talking about what does it mean to be peaceful.
Remember to dress in black and orange for Halloween on Monday!
